Birds, butterflies the topic of guided tours

A buttefly ID workshop will be held Friday, June 4, during Cerulean Warbler Weekend 2010.

This Red-spotted Purple butterfly was seen at the Otis Sanctuary on Tuesday, May 25. Learn more about Barry County's butterflies by signing up for Ranger Steve Mueller's workshop on Friday, June 4, at 2 pm.

Ribbon-cutting will honor Erway, Otis legacy

See Common Yellowthroat up close during Cerulean Warbler Weekend 2010

The Common Yellowthroat is easy to see at the Otis Farm Bird Sanctuary. Join Michigan Audubon for guided birding tours during Cerulean Warbler Weekend 2010.

On Saturday, June 5th, Michigan Audubon will honor the generosity of the Otis and Erway families with a ribbon cutting at the Otis Farm Bird Sanctuary.  The celebration will highlight the recent improvements to the Sears and Roebuck  Barn that will now serve as a three-season meeting space, classroom, and interpretive area.  A limited amount of free chips, hot dogs (and veggie dogs), and beverages will available for all those who attend.

The ribbon-cutting takes place during Cerulean Warbler Weekend 2010.  Check out the full line-up of programs and consider registering for the event.  This is a great opportunity to add the following species to your life list:
