Henslow's Sparrow are seasonal residents of the Otis Farm Bird Sanctuary
National Audubon’s Important Bird Area Coordinator for Michigan, Caleb Putnam, leads birders in search of the elusive Henslow’s Sparrow. Caleb’s expertise in the field is well-known, and participants will enjoy learning from this seasoned birder.
Caleb earned a B.S. in Biology from Alma College in 1999 and an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana in 2003. A lifelong birder, Caleb has extensive knowledge of Michigan’s birds and places. He is the outgoing chair of the Michigan Bird Records Committee and Vice Chair of the Michigan Bird Conservation Initiative.
